KICK UP YOUR HEELS WITH THE PERFECT ANKLE BOOTS | GET THE LOOK AT CENTRE PLACE

FIND THE PERFECT HEEL.

Many of my clients go astray when they think they are looking for a flat ankle boot, for comfort, but they never end up looking right with what they are wearing.

Sometimes just a little heel can make all the difference.

A solid, thicker, block heel can be very comfortable, but also just help elongate your leg that little bit, adding a better proportion to all your outfits.

THINK ABOUT HOW THEY FIT AROUND YOUR LEG.

This is something people don’t often think about until it’s too late, and it’s one of the features that can make or break and ankle boot for you.

Look for a boot that finishes at  a flattering length on your leg (that will be different for everyone, but it’s usually just above your ankle bone).

It’s a little bit Goldilocks really, not too tight around the leg, not to loose around the ankle, something just right.

TOE SHAPE IS KEY.

If you want a pair of ankle boots that are going to stand the test of time, don’t be swayed by trend shapes when it comes to toe shapes.

A classic almond toe is always a good place to start, it sits somewhere between a pointy toe and a round toe.

But this is also quite a personal preference when it comes to comfort. If you have a wider foot, or foot issues, you should look for a toe shape that you feel comfortable wearing all day long.

LOOK FOR A VERSATILE PAIR

One of the things I often discuss with personal styling clients is getting ‘cost per wear’ from the pieces they are adding to their wardrobe. This is about finding the pieces that you know you will get the most versatility out of when it comes to your wardrobe.

Looking for an ankle boot that works with most of the pieces in your wardrobe is key, and might take a little more time and money, but it will pay off in the end.

Think about what style you like, what colour will work, and what heel height suits your lifestyle the best.
